Privacy policy

Effective September 11, 2026

This policy applies to the Northwood Investments website and to every application published by Northwood Investments LLC, unless an app's store listing or in-app notice links to an app-specific supplement. Where a supplement exists, it controls for that app.

Who we are

Northwood Investments LLC ("Northwood," "we," "us") is a software studio that builds web applications, mobile applications, and AI tools. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at jake.nwinvestments@gmail.com.

The website

The only personal information the website collects is what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, company (if you give one), and your message. We use it solely to respond to you. It is delivered to us by email and kept for as long as the conversation is useful.

The website does not use analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process technical data such as IP addresses to serve the site securely; that processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

Our applications

Not every app we publish collects every category below. Each app's store listing describes what that app actually collects. This section describes what we may collect and why.

Accounts and sign-in

If an app lets you create an account, we collect what is needed to operate it: typically an email address, a display name, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another provider, we receive the identifier and profile details that provider shares with us according to your settings there. We use this information to authenticate you, keep your data associated with your account, and contact you about the service.

Analytics and crash reporting

To understand how our apps are used and to fix problems, we may collect device model, operating system version, app version, coarse usage events (for example, which screens are opened), and crash logs. This data is processed through third-party tools that act on our behalf. We use it in aggregate to improve reliability and design, not to identify you personally.

Payments and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions inside our apps are processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or a payment processor such as Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We may receive a transaction identifier, the product purchased, and its status so that we can provide what you paid for and handle support requests.

AI features

Some of our apps include features built on large language models. When you use one, the text, images, or other content you submit to that feature, along with any context the feature needs to work, may be sent to a third-party AI provider (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to generate a response. These providers process the data under contractual terms that prohibit them from using it to train their models. We do not use your content to train our own models. Please don't submit information you wouldn't want processed by an automated system, including passwords, financial account numbers, or sensitive health details.

Support and communications

If you contact us for help, we keep the correspondence so we can resolve your issue and refer back to it. We may send service emails about your account or important changes. Marketing emails, if we ever send them, will include a way to unsubscribe.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We share it only:

• with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions, such as hosting, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting, payment processing, and AI providers;
• when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Northwood, our users, or others;
• as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, for as long as you maintain an account with us, and afterward only as required for legal, accounting, or security reasons. Analytics and crash data are retained in aggregate or deleted on the schedule set by the tool that collects them.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing jake.nwinvestments@gmail.com. Where an app offers account deletion in its settings, using it removes your account and associated data on the same terms. We respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law, and we never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

You can also limit collection at the device level: most operating systems let you revoke permissions (camera, location, notifications) and opt out of app tracking or personalized advertising.

California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to non-discrimination. Residents of the EEA, UK, and Switzerland have the rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our services, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.

Children

Our website and apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use our services from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for those transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The effective date at the top tells you when it was last revised. For material changes, we will provide notice within the affected app or by email where we have your address.
